FONHARE believes in partnership, in long-life and powerful partnership

Handicap International / Humanity & Inclusion (HI)

Since 2018, the Haitian Rehabilitation Foundation (FONHARE) has worked in partnership with the HANDICAP INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION, commonly known as Humanity & Inclusion (HI), which is an independent international solidarity association, which intervenes in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflicts and disasters. HI also works alongside disabled people and vulnerable people, to meet their essential needs, to improve their living conditions and to promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights.

Since then, FONHARE and HI have collaborated together on a common objective which is to make multidisciplinary, specialized and quality rehabilitation services available and accessible to disabled people and vulnerable people suffering from functional limitations linked to pain, trauma or neurological disorders, particularly women and girls in the northeastern region of Haiti.

In addition, FONHARE and HI are always at the forefront to protect or improve the situation of vulnerable populations in distress during periods of crisis or disaster. We carried out a project together to FACE COVID-19, we were also there to FACE CHOLERA and now we are still alongside vulnerable people exposed to water-borne diseases in the northeast.

The HI-FONHARE partnership is a solid, constructive and innovative relationship based on organizational principles and values with strict mutual respect.

Christian Blind Mission (CBM)

In 2016, the Haitian Rehabilitation Foundation (FONHARE) met with the Christian Blind Mission (CBM) which is an international Christian development organization committed to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities in the poorest countries in the world.

Together, FONHARE and CBM have built a very fruitful, very strong and solid partnership on a common objective: to build a society for all in Haiti, accessible and inclusive. To achieve this objective we worked on universal accessibility projects (advocacy and accessibility model); on raising awareness of an inclusive banking system; Inclusive Humanitarian Response to Hurricane Irma in 2017 and to Covid-19 by ensuring that people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups have inclusive access to humanitarian aid; on inclusive risk and disaster management (GIRD) in the north and northeast departments; and on inclusive development based on the CBID community.

The results of this partnership allowed us to invent this mathematical formula:

FONHARE + CBM = A SOCIETY FOR ALL

If you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go fargo together”. African Proverb – Martha Goedert.
